FDA approves new drug for erectile dysfunction

October 11, 2010 12:00 AM EDT

Pfizer Inc. is introducing a new erectile dysfunction drug, the first to be approved by the FDA. FDA approved the drug in 1998, which was developed by Eli Lilly and Company. Pfizer's first drugs, Viagra and Cialis, are already approved by the FDA. The company is also planning to introduce the new drug in the United States by the end of 2011.

Pfizer's erectile dysfunction drug is known as Viagra, and it was approved by the FDA by the FDA in 1998. Viagra, which treats the same symptoms of erectile dysfunction as Cialis, was approved by the FDA in 1998.

Viagra, which is sold under the brand name Levitra, is a drug that has been around for a few years. The drug is available by prescription only and is approved to treat erectile dysfunction in men.

In 1999, Pfizer acquired the rights to market a generic version of Viagra, the first drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The drug, called Sildenafil, was approved by the FDA in 2003.

The company has also filed lawsuits in federal court against Pfizer for failing to warn consumers about the risks of taking a drug that causes side effects such as chest pain, heart attack and stroke.

The Food and Drug Administration is responsible for reviewing the safety and efficacy of drugs, and its approval process is overseen by the FDA's Office of Drug Safety and the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. The agency is also responsible for reviewing safety and efficacy data for drugs.

Pfizer is working to develop a new drug to treat erectile dysfunction, and a new drug will be introduced in the United States by the end of this year.

The new erectile dysfunction drug is called Sildenafil. It is approved for use in adults and in children over the age of 18. In addition to the brand name and generic name of Viagra, the drug is also marketed under the brand name Revatio.
